IT’S ALL CHANGE THIS AUTUMN AT THE GLASS WORKS BARNSLEY

It’s all change this autumn, but that means there is plenty to be excited about at The Glass Works. As the weather gets colder and the mornings and nights get darker, its important to make time for cosy lunches and even cosier clothes, enjoy our incredible events, and get into the spirit of Halloween at The Glass Works Barnsley. 

DARKER MORNINGS

We aren’t quite seeing frost on the ground yet, but there is definitely a chill in the air these autumn mornings. There is no better way to beat the chill than a delicious coffee or tea, and there are plenty of cafes at The Glass Works to warm you through! Whether you are on your way to work, or starting a day of shopping, stop by 200 Degrees Coffee, Coffee Boy, Caffe Botanico, Falco Lounge or Starbucks and start the day off right.  

Of course, the legendary Pumpkin Spice Latte is back at Starbucks for its 20th year, but there are also tasty autumn themed drinks at snacks elsewhere to sample, like the Sticky Toffee Biscoff Cake, and Vegan Chocolate Orange Truffle at 200 Degrees Coffee.

DARKER NIGHTS

As the nights are get darker, unfortunately, we can’t sit out and enjoy the sun in the evenings, however, it does open a whole host of other opportunities and activities. Whether it’s a chilled family night, date night or you next great night out with you friends.

ALL CHANGE AUTUMN

The weather might be changing, the leaves falling from the trees and the jumpers coming out, but one thing that isn’t changing is the The Glass Works line-up of fantastic events. 

The headline event in autumn is Barnsley Bright Nights. Friday 24 and Saturday 25 sees the return of Barnsley’s annual art and light festival which includes our Christmas Light Switch on event and an illuminated light parade. Following the success of last year’s event, the light switch on will again take place in The Glass Works Square, marking the start of the festive period in the town. 

On Sunday 5th November we are happy to welcome Little Hummingbird Events who will be bringing their artisan outdoor market that will showcases artists and makers from all over the region. From 10am to 4pm, makers, bakers, crafters, creators and artisans will display their wares on Cheapside in a special Sunday market. 

Join us on Thursday 26th October for a ‘Winter special’ Joining Forces Day! The Army, emergency services and more will be in town for a fun and interactive day with the chance to meet some of Barnsley’s local heroes whilst also experiencing lots of fun activities.
