FREE HALF TERM ACTIVITES AT THE GLASS WORKS BARNSLEY

ARE YOU LOOKING FOR FUN ACTIVITIES FOR KIDS OF ALL AGES THIS FEBRUARY HALF TERM? THE GLASS WORKS BARNSLEY HAS FUN WORKSHOPS AND ACTIVITIES TO GET INVOLVED IN, AND THEY ARE COMPLETELY FREE!
On Monday 13th February, from 10 am-3 pm, you can get creative, learn new skills, and showcase your artistic talent, across four fantastic activities taking place at The Glass Works.
All the activities will take place in the Tiny Tarn area in Barnsley Market. Tiny Tarn is located at the back of Market Kitchen, at the top of the Barnsley Market escalators.
PLEASE NOTE: All events operate on a first come first serve basis, and only a certain number of children can participate at any time.
BALLOON WORKSHOPS
Have you ever wanted to learn how to bend a balloon and make it into something wonderful? Well, the Balloonatic team will be on-site to show you exactly that and show you all the tips and tricks.
Go from novice to experienced balloon sculptor in minutes, and take home your very own creation!
CRAFT-AND-DO WORKSHOPS
The Makendoo workshop is the perfect opportunity for kids to get creative! All ages can join in the fun, painting and making a huge range of masks, hats, and puppet characters, all finished off with plenty of glitter.
Take your artwork with you, carrying and wearing their souvenirs of a great day out.
FACE PAINTING
Face painting specialist, Artifaces, will also be at The Glass Works this half term. They offer a huge range of designs, styles and designs so there will be something for everyone.
BARNSLEY LANDMARK COLOURING
If you are keen to bring out your artistic side, try your hand at colouring in some of Barnsley’s most iconic landmarks. Add a splash of colour and re-create Barnsley in your own vision, or show some love and create a Valentine’s Day-themed design.
If that wasn’t enough half term excitement, don’t forget everything else you can do at The Glass Works!
Take advantage of Superbowl UK’s fantastic bowling deals all week long, have an adventure in their Crazy Club soft play, and their SEGA amusement arcade.
And don’t forget to catch the latest blockbuster at Cineworld Barnsley. With Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, Matilda The Musical, Epic Tails, and more all showing next, there has never been a better time to visit!
OTHER FREE ACTIVITIES AROUND TOWN
Experience Barnsley has a jampacked programme of fun family-friendly activities planned for the school half-term. This includes SENsational – a multisensory experience for children with PMLD and autism – on 13 February, Egyptian crafting on 14 February and a daily ‘Mummies’ LEGO trail. There’s also an Amazing Animals printing workshop at The Cooper Gallery on 17 February.
Over at the Library @ The Lightbox there’s a special Play Doh session on 16 February. This fun activity gives children the chance to get creative and learn about basic circuits and electricity.
PARKING
As always, The Glass Works Car Park is free after 5 pm every day, and free for up to three hours at the weekend! There are 475 spaces, 20 parent and child bays, 28 free disabled bays available to Blue Badge holders, and 6EV parking bays, all open 24 hours a day.
