Barnsley Bright Nights
November 20, 2026 - November 21, 2026
Barnsley Bright Nights returns for its ninth year on Friday 20 and Saturday 21 November 2026, 5- 8.30pm, bringing spectacular light installations, live performances and a magical festive atmosphere to Barnsley town centre.
At The Glass Works Square, visitors can experience 12 Giant Days, a larger-than-life projection installation created by Illuminos.
Inspired by the much-loved Christmas carol The Twelve Days of Christmas, this playful and immersive artwork transforms giant gift boxes into a spinning visual spectacle. Watch as geese, swans, gold rings and other festive surprises tumble from one present to the next in a mesmerising display inspired by the motion of a giant zoetrope.
The festive fun doesn’t stop there. Look out for colourful pop-up performances from Global Grooves and local community groups, bringing the Twelve Days of Christmas to life throughout the evening.
12 Giant Days has been co-commissioned by Barnsley Bright Nights and Light Up Wakefield.
