Barnsley’s Town Centre Fashion Event
April 14, 2022
Look and feel good throughout April as Barnsley town centre celebrates fashion and lifestyle with a range of free activities and events.
Fashion shows, exhibitions, Easter trails and much more are happening this month in the town centre.
Barnsley’s Town Centre Fashion Show
On Saturday 23 April Barnsley town centre will host its very own fashion show, with professional models showcasing the latest seasonal trends from a variety of retailers in a unique event.
Choreographed routines will be performed in front of stores in The Glass Works, including River Island, Next, USC, Sports Direct and JD Sports. Similar performances will also be taking place in The Alhambra Shopping Centre as well as independent businesses across the town centre including Frank Bird, 80s Casual Classics, Closet Queen and Labels For Less.
There will be a performance every 20 minutes, following a route between the three venues, with the location of each performance predominantly taking place outside the stores themselves.

Over the past two weeks, professional photographer Timm Cleasby has been capturing street style inspired images of those who are not afraid to stand out from the crowd. The most inspirational images will be selected and transformed into life-size cutouts that will be exhibited in The Glass Works Square from Saturday 23 to Saturday 30 April.

In collaboration with The Civic, a T-shirt Cult / Culture / Subversion exhibition featuring exceptional surviving pieces customised by Westwood and McLaren will also be on display in The Glass Works until the end of May.
